user input, such as clicking the OK button in an error message. This way,
you can pre-schedule transfers to run automatically when you’re not at
your computer. (When you return to the computer, you can always check
the log file to see if there were any problems.)
To use the examples shown above, you could do a pre-scheduled transfer
by creating the following batch file:
as well as the following text file: Then, you could run the auto10.bat file at 10:00 PM each night using
a scheduler.
Remember that if a file name has a space in it, you must enclose the entire
command in quotes.
Transferring a Folder Containing Subfolders Since you can’t create folders using the command line, you won’t be able
to transfer a folder by simply specifying the folder name in the command
line, or by using wildcards.
To transfer a folder using the command line, you’ll need to use some other
method to create the folder and its subfolders in the destination location.
Then, you can use the same procedure as described in “Multiple Folders or
Commands” on page 117. In the text file, you’ll have one command line
for each subfolder.
For example, let’s suppose you want to transfer the entire folder named
Sports to the Damion FTP site. The Sports folder contains a number of
